There are no major safety concerns in Latvia - even though there is a large presence of organised crime in the country, this does not tend to affect foreigners. Water used for drinking, making ice or brushing teeth should first be boiled or sterilised in another way. It is recommended that vaccination is taken out against Tick-borne encephalitis if visiting forested areas.
